Cedars Additional Needs Academy participated for the first time on Friday 29th January 2016 in the Beds FA’s Ability Counts Football.  This is an initiative set up by Beds FA to give students with varying degrees of disability the opportunity to participate in competitive football with an emphasis on enjoyment and social interaction. Cedars was entered into the SEN league and competed in the People’s Cup. This consisted of matches against 8 other schools in our league. Each match was 12 mins and 7 aside.

Our team for the day pictured above with Justin Butt and Liam Broxup are:

Erin Lathwell, Ayo Akinbobola, Jake Bridgstock, Sam Ballad, Byron Brooks, Stuart Lambert (C), Alanis Bateman, Logan Boon, Jamie Randall and Adam Critcher.

We won 5, drew 1 and lost 1.  We ended as runners up with each of our team receiving medals at the end of the tournament.

The students had a great day, all got stuck in and really enjoyed it. Special note goes to Jake Bridgstock, and to Ayo Akinbobola for his goal from the halfway line, the player of the tournament was Erin Lathwell.

With thanks to Liam Broxup for driving the mini-bus and all his fantastic help on the day.
